Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Hello and welcome to our new feature Neighbors Helping Neighbors!

Orion is so grateful for all the ways this community works together to support each other and we want to give you a shout out to show our thanks!

We will share regular updates of how you take care of our neighbors when they need a helping hand but this is what has happened just this week….

  • To find a home for a toddler bed and deliver the new bed to a very happy little one.
  • To advocate for a man who had a stroke to get permanent housing and then help move all his possessions to this new home
  • To provide ride to job training program
  • To gift socks, laundry detergent and diapers to stretch family budgets
  • TO VITA tax preparation volunteers coming to Orion twice a week to provide specialized support

And then there was a fire at the Prima Motel that displaced more than 25 people who lived there. Once again, this community got really serious about helping out!

  • To replace a laptop lost in the fire
  • To donate meals – Great American Pub called Orion and Adina from You are Worth It Foundation delivered melas to fire survivors at 3 area hotels in Phoenixville, Exton and Audubon
  • To provide kids with backpacks and phone chargers to residents that were lost in the fire
  • To First Presbyterian and People to People to provide clothes and to the volunteers to deliver the clothes and personal care products to neighbors who lost everything
  • To be wonderful support partners working with Karin Williams at Phoenixville’s Office of Emergency Management

Many thanks to this community of wonderful neighbors! Read our Neighbors Helping Neighbors stories – thank you.
